Kilcoe Castle
Rainbow over Kilcoe Castle
This is a very good example of Irish weather. In the far distance
it is raining hard over the seaside village of Baltimore. The
wind is blowing from the west straight off the Atlantic Ocean. In
the middle distance the sun is shining on Kilcoe castle. Above us
is a fine shower of gentle rain ("a fine, soft, day" as we call it here)
is producing a classic rainbow. There is a crock of gold over
there somewhere. This was taken from Skeaghanore West looking
south east. The castle is on the mainland, behind it is Lisheen,
and the island on the right is Mannin Island, uninhabited except from
some cattle and goats. There is enough blue sky to make a
pair of sailor's trousers.
