Karnak Temple - Upper Egypt

Temple at Karnak - Egypt
Karnak

I was one of two cameramen commissioned to shoot the groundbreaking television series "Cosmos" with astronomer Carl Sagan.  My crew shot in locations in England, Czechoslovakia, India, and Egypt.
The locations in the USA and Mexico were shot by cameraman
HJ Brown.  We travelled to upper Egypt with Carl Sagan to illustrate the story of the French explorer Champollion, who discovered the Rosetta Stone, and the calculation of the circumference of the earth bt the Greek mathematician Eratosthenes in around 240 BC.  This shot was taken in one of the great temples at Karnak near Luxor; not many tourists about in those days!

Camera: Nikon FM2, lens Nikkor 24mm, film Ektachrome.
